The Ridge Merino Hyde Merino Joggers look like merino wool sweatpants to the untrained eye. But they are more than just sweatpants. They are the perfect cozy joggers for lounging, travel, and everything in between. These are the only pants I wear on long haul flights.

What I like
The colors. The first iteration of joggers/sweatpants that ever came out have been a boring grey (see: Outdoor Research Petra Pants or the original Icebreaker Crush II Pant). Ridge Merino generally has really great colors.
The zippered pockets. Again, the Ridge Merino Hyde Joggers are the only pants I wear on long flights. A big part is due to the zippered pockets, which fits an iPhone 17 Pro Max in a Peak Design Gnar case (aka it’s bulky) and still zips. This has been a godsend for running frantically through the airport, or having a place to store my phone while I snooze away.
Merino. This goes without saying because Ridge Merino only makes merino wool clothing. But having merino wool sweatpants is awesome. They don’t stink, even after 30+ hour travel days. They don’t feel gross when you haven’t washed them for 10 days and keep wearing them. I love merino wool.
The fit. The Hyde Joggers aren’t unflattering as some sweatpants may be. I may look like a slob on my 20th hour of airplane or roadtrip travel, but these don’t fit slobbily.

What I don’t like
The drawstring. I rarely use drawstrings, and the drawstring on the Ridge Merino Hyde Joggers are no exception. They are prone to getting sucked into the waistband. Digging them out is a pain.
The Verdict
I’ve had the Ridge Merino Hyde Merino Joggers for several years now. They are a travel staple, and are the only thing I wear on long haul flights. They’re also the perfect pants to throw on at the end of the day at camp. Because of merino’s odor resistant and anti-microbial properties, I don’t feel like a slob wearing them for 24+ hours or multiple days in a row. I would not hesitate to buy them.
