When local brand Alite Designs had a buy one, get one free deal on one of their signature chairs, I couldn’t say no. I was tired of never having a comfortable chair to lounge in by the campfire. And I hate how bulky most outdoor camp chairs are. And that’s how I ended up with two tropical-print Alite Designs Mayfly Chairs.
These are super cool. They pack down to approximately 8” x 3” in the stuff sack, so you can tuck them into your car for every camping trip. If you’re insane enough, you can totally pack these out into the backcountry for a comfortable seat too. The Mayfly chairs can also double as extra seating for when you have guests over, or if you don’t have any furniture at all (me), or if your cat needs a place to sleep. The chairs hold up to 250 pounds each and come in a plethora of designs and colors.
Assembly is pretty easy, though it does take some getting used to. All of the metal pieces snap together and then you just need to slide the chair fabric on. It took a little bit of wrestling the first time I tried, but it was a breeze after that. The front foot is removable if you want to rock your heart away.
