I’ve long been a fan of Wild Rye chamois since I started cycling more seriously in 2023. My first pairs of padded shorts were the Wild Rye Eleanor Chammy. After rocking those for many months, I discovered the world of bibs and never looked back. Gone are the days of having to tug the waist band up after rolling down. When Wild Rye introduced the Billie Stash Bibs, I had to try them out. Bibs with pockets for snacks and my phone? I need.

What I like
Pockets! I discovered bibs with cargo pockets, and now I can’t go back. Especially because there are many days where I’m out on a bike with the Wild Rye Holly Jersey. The pockets are a godsend for having my phone handy, or carrying snacks or trash.
High rise. These hold in the tummy nice and well. I can’t stand bibs that are a mid rise because they just leave weird lumps and bumps under my jersey, and aren’t super comfortable.

What I don’t like
Sizing. I’ve been solidly a 2 in the Wild Rye size chart for years now. My two pairs of Eleanor Chammy shorts are size 2. These run a little larger. For rides less than 20 miles, it works out okay. Anything longer leads to chafing, which is a huge bummer.
No drop seat. For folks wanting to wear these on longer rides, you’ll have to fully disrobe to go pee. I’m a little disappointed that as a brand by, and for, women, easy bathroom access isn’t a priority with bibs.

The Verdict on the Billie Stash Bibs
The Wild Rye Billie Stash Bibs aren’t my favorite, mostly because they don’t fit me properly. That being said, I’m lacking in bibs with cargo pockets, so these will stay in the rotation for rides under 30 miles for me. Any more than that, and I get some chafing.
With how fun the bike shorts are, I hope they also introduce fun prints in their bib line.
My top pick for cargo bibs are the Ornot Cargo Bib Shorts. After hundreds of miles, including a century ride, they still fit snugly, have a pocket, and have a drop seat for bathroom breaks.
